Disaster Recovery Facilities Program
Recent Disasters
Recent disasters demonstrate the realities and risks associated
with a terrorist act, flood, fire, hurricane, tornado, etc. and
the effect they have on communities throughout the United States.
These disasters have also shown the importance of contingency
planning.
Federal guidelines on contingency planning specifically state
the guidelines for an alternative site facility. In addition,
these guidelines require the guarantee of availability of an alternative
site to be in writing and be operational in a short period of
time after the disaster has occurred.
